The Briefs framework, created by Rob Rhyne, gives you a way to quickly build working prototypes of iPhone applications. It made a big splash at C4, and has generated quite a bit of buzz with Cocoa/UI nerds. Rob has agreed to speak at CocoaHeads on Thursday, November 12 at 7pm. The meeting is in Garage 1 at Infinite Loop 4 at Apple. This is a new talk covering iPhone design techniques, using Briefs as part of the workflow.
I admit I already wrote about Doug Bowman's story of how Google prefers data over designer judgement. But something stuck with me about this story. I didn't feel like I had really gotten to the heart of it, and I couldn't put my finger on why that was. Until now.
Writing a book is a fairly crazy thing to do. It's like coming up with 200 essays on a single subject. You can only do it if you really like the thing you're writing about. Fortunately, I really like making Mac software and teaching other people about it, so O'Reilly asked me to turn that into a book

I sent out a general request on Twitter, asking what specifically the biggest obstacle was when you first started learning Cocoa. Out of the roughly 118 responses I got back, no one topic completely dominated
