Okay, I'll admit to actually purchasing OpenDoc and PowerTalk software, although clearly I was in the minority. But to say that those technologies died because of lack of developer support is a little misleading. The fact is that stuff was very complicated to implement. The AOCE book weighed 50 pounds and OpenDoc required a completely new way of thinking about the UI and storage.

Core Animation is a walk in the park by comparison, and it will receive widespread developer support as a result.
