I've had really good experiences with the theplanet.com, and would recommend them if you are interested in getting your own box. When I evaluated all the hosting providers a while ago, they were definitely the lowest cost, highest quality option. Right now you can get a celeron 2ghz box with 750gb of transfer for $69 a month. One of the main reasons I originally went with them is because they offered Debian on their servers, which they seem to have dropped. Now it is just Cent OS (whatever that is), Red Hat, and Windows. Bummer.
