About the market share, I agree with Scott that it is more important to look at the actual profits than at the percentage market share. Just to compare the numbers for the third quarter (hope I got everything correct after a quick Google search):
Dell: Revenue 13.91 billion, net income: 606 million
Apple: Revenue 4.4 billion, net income: 320 million
So Apple managed to make half of Dell's profits on only one-third of the revenue. I do not know the number of machines sold, but I bet that Dell had to sell proportionally much more machines to get to the stated revenue.
