Everybody keeps suggesting that there was risk for MacHeist — this is true only in the most theoretical sense, in the same way that the Earth is at risk of being swallowed by a black hole. Sure, they might have lost money on it given X set of circumstances, but in reality, that wasn't going to happen. MacHeist was going to make out like gangbusters on this, and they knew it. This is the only explanation for why they absolutely refused to allow developers to take a percentage cut.
