The point isn't that mouse is always faster. The point is that people think the keyboard is faster even when it isn't based on objective testing. Your opinion is just as subjective as the people's opinions who were proven wrong by the study, so I'd take yourself with a grain of salt.
Of course apps can be optimized one way or the other, but thats neither here nor there.
