I have to wonder if using the keyboard in 1989 was far different than using the keyboard today.
For instance, using keyboard shortcuts in Textmate feels considerably faster than using the mouse to navigate the menubar every time I want to add an HTML link in my HTML document.
I would gladly take a stopwatch to my keyboarding skills in Textmate. Not only does it feel faster, but if I try to a more mouse-oriented text editor, I get frustrated with how slow it feels to use the mouse for every little function.
