Google Talk

So Google Talk is out. I didn't sign up for a GMail account for a while because I already had a .Mac account. But unlike email, you may need an account on an IM service to talk to certain people.

I was actually impressed with the GMail signup process. They send you a text message with a number to your phone. So now I'm on Google Talk, but, y'know, there's no one here that I know. :)

The current Talk client only works for Windows, but it really doesn't matter because iChat works just fine. I know Google is working on various Mac OS X products, and I've heard they're using Cocoa, which is encouraging.
