It's a joke, please laugh. Although the real joke is it's hard to tell exactly which company I'm spoofing.

How very Vista of you.

Genius! I want extra sprinkles!

Very true though about the question company of which company though. I had a look on Dell's site the other day for a friend - eek :(

However, my faith has been slightly restored. I'm looking for a network hard disk and checked out LaCie's site today. Refreshingly simple to find the right product. Anyone here have any other suggestions?

I think I'm Magenta! However, the clever use of 'X' in Xtreme does something for me, too.

I guess it's Microsoft Vista. Or as Fake Steve calls it: Fista

Ha! That wacky Basecamp and Friends.

It must've been the lineup of Creative X-Fi cards. Just the X-Fi brand, not all the other groups of groups of groups of brands of sound cards they have. I tried ordering one a few days ago. I almost gave up when I couldn't figure out which oneS supported real 5.1 surround speakers, and which oneS had XTREME surround virtualization that could only be played through two speakers.

When I browse product catalogs like that, all I hear in my head is:
We finally really did it. YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! AAAH DAMN YOU! GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

(FREE upgrade to Premium Xtreme Platinum version if you spot the reference!)

Wow. I didn't even know about that one. Looks like it's a real race. Nobody has named the one I had in mind yet.

The problem is that so many companies do this crap it's hard to tell which one it is.

Sounds very much like Visual Studio to me. :-)

It comes as in several (free) Express editions, the Standard edition and the Professional edition. Then there are the Team System editions for developers, architects and testers. There's also a Team System Server of course and one that includes all of this for the equivalent of $15,000.

You're obviously not spoofing Office 2003/2007. They're much more evil than simple progressive supersets.

Ha, I actually thought it was a dig at Gruber. I guess he really only has one tier, though.
