Real Last Day for WWDC 2007 Early Registration

Apple extended the WWDC 2007 early registration discount by two weeks, with the final day tomorrow, May 11. You can still register right up until the conference, but the cost goes up after tomorrow. The session lineup looks fantastic, and of course there's a Leopard beta, Apple Design Awards, most likely some iPhone details, and you get to take part in the first WWDC Bash in San Francisco.

Yup. Totally there. Got my student scholarship. I'm psyched. My first WWDC.

If you miss the deadline, there's still a way of getting a "discounted" ticket...

The ADC Premium special offer runs through June 11.

For $2,499 (normally $3,500) it includes a WWDC ticket along with all the Premium goodies (year's ADC membership, 10 support incidents, 10 hardware discounts, etc).

Pretty good value, and you've got all the way up to the opening bell to decide!

On a side note, any meet-ups planned for the Sunday (June 10) for Theocacao readers?

I'm psyched too. It is my first WWDC, hopefully it will not be my last! That depends on me making some kind of profit out of this and basically staying on the good graces of my wife :-)

Is it really the last day? Just checked on 5/12 and the buy now button still says it is $1295. My company will buy the ticket but won't pay for sending me there because they are worried about everyone else in the company wanting to go to conferences (they've never payed for anyone to go to a conference, developer or not).. go figure.. I may take them up on the ticket and pay the rest myself...

I also asked in the contact form about availability of WWDC videos after the conference and was told there are "no announcements" regarding this yet.

Perhaps you should make it clear that it's not really a trade show in the way Macworld is, but rather an opportunity to learn about the API? If you're writing Mac software, it's a great investment, particularly because you can ask Apple engineers directly about whatever code-related questions you have. You also get access to the past WWDC sessions on video and the Headstart material.

I know the word "conference" does have a negative connotation in it especially if the company is living more in the windows world than Mac. I have made it amply clear to "them" that the conference is a very technical hands-on experience and is more than worth the money.. maybe we need a new name.. it would be hard to beat "WWDC" though.. sort-of has that Hulk Hogan - Spiderman twist to it..

I'm in!
