All Hail Seth McFarlane

And there was much rejoicing.

Not only did the first new episode of Family Guy finally surface last night, but it came with American Dad in tow. Flint busting out of the bathroom stall just brought a smile to my face.

I love the fact that Seth and Fox are willing to take a chance on a new series with new characters, particularly when poking so much fun at politics in the process. However, I think Fox really overdid it by putting 217 animated shows all in one block. Did they not learn from the last go-round?

Oh well, Adult Swim will give them the attention they deserve.

Do you think Adult Swim will get permission from Fox to air the new episodes any time soon? They were probably only able to air the old ones because Fox was no longer showing them. I hope they do, though. I really had to try to remember to watch Fox on Sunday and I don't want to miss any of the new episodes.

I believe they get the new episodes next month. I'm in the same boat as you, I never watch Fox. I think this is probably more the rule than the exception. I think Fox sees the popularity of the show on Adult Swim and the DVD sales, but they don't realize their audience is different.

Simpsons works on Fox because it's a different flavor than either Family Guy or even Futurama. Both fit much better on Adult Swim.
